Frequently Asked Questions

What is GoGetTested.com?
GoGetTested.com is a platform built to enable access to COVID-19 testing for everyone. We have worked with multiple states to deliver a mobile testing capability across the entire state free of charge for anyone needing a test. Our goal is to enable our economies to re-open safely.
Where is GoGetTested, and COVID-19 Testing Available?
Yes. The service is currently only available in multiple states. However we will be expanding our COVID-19 testing capability to more states soon. If you would like to sponsor our growth in your community please email us at support@gogettested.com
How much does it cost to be tested?
Testing is free with and without insurance. For indviduals who do not have insurance, testing is also free under the CARES Act and in partnership with their state, and city governments.
Why am I being asked to sign an authorization form?
We need your authorization to collect, use and share information in compliance with multiple health regulations and that authorization must be provided before screening begins. The services our Program is providing inherently require the limited and responsible sharing of information with other groups. Specifically, this information is being used by Departments of Public Health for their operational and planning purposes. In addition, we need to share this information with companies that are performing the testing onsite or laboratories that are running the COVID-19 test. This sharing is fundamental to the coordination of services and is done on limited terms to achieve the purposes of the COVID-19 Program. We're committed to protecting the security and privacy of individual health data entered through the Program.
How do I get tested?
There are two steps to this process: Scheduling and COVID-19 testing. First, you will schedule your COVID-19 test by entering your phone number above. If there is an available appointment, you will receive details on how and where to get tested. Once tested, you'll be informed via email or phone when your COVID-19 test results are available.
What should I do if I test positive for COVID-19?
When an individual tests positive for COVID-19, they are instructed to isolate from others for up to 10 days, depending upon their symptoms. Because the person may be infectious during this time, it is essential for them to follow this. This is also essential for those who are asymptomatic to follow as well, as they still may be infectious despite not having symptoms. Further guidance and instructions can be found on KDHE’s COVID-19 website.
What do I do if I am a healthcare worker awaiting test results?
If you are a healthcare professional, first responder, frontline worker, or critical infrastructure worker and you have been directly exposed while at work, you should consult your place of work for specific occupational health guidance about whether to stay home or continue working while waiting for your results. You should adhere to recommendations set forth by your employer or the department of health, as they may differ from the CDC's guidelines.
When should I quarantine (stay home and away from others)?
Everyone who has been exposed to someone who tests positive is at risk for getting the virus. Public health seeks to locate those who have been close contacts of the infected person, and to advise those individuals to stay at home and away from others for two weeks. Since symptoms may take between 2-14 days after exposure to develop, it is essential for exposed individuals to stay at home away from others. This is referred to as quarantine.
How does a case investigation or contact tracing work?
After a positive case is identified, public health contacts the individual to determine where the individual may have become infected.
What does it mean to have an outbreak?
An outbreak is defined as two or more cases connected to one known exposure. When an outbreak occurs, public health works with the location to identify and test those potentially exposed and /or ill. Additional infection protocols will be implemented in congregate settings.

How can I avoid getting COVID-19?
Until a vaccine is widely available, the best way to avoid COVID-19 is through prevention measures. This includes things such as social distancing, wearing masks, staying home if ill and avoiding large groups. In congregate settings, this includes things such as wearing and using the appropriate PPE and infection protocols.
